Dan's Season Highlights

What a season we’ve had. I’m going to take it back and do a season analysis, LFYLR style.
I’m going to categorise each section and give a brief analysis of each one.

Game of the season:

Tottenham 3-3 Arsenal.  It just had everything, for me. It was fun, fast and exciting for the neutral, as an Arsenal fan it just had me on the edge of my seat (metaphorically, as I was standing) all game. That was a classic derby; the tensions were high as were the stakes. Granted, it was the game that killed the season for both clubs but the match was enthralling nonetheless.  It started as well as it finished, just a sensational game of football.

Goal of the season:

I had to think long and hard about this one but the goal I have decided is worthy of my goal of the season is Johan Elmander’s goal against Wolves. The close control and super cool finish was fantastic.

Best signing of the season:

Maybe an uncommon view but Peter Odemwingie has been sublime for West Brom. 15 league goals and many impressive performances for the big Nigerian wins this accolade for me. Most importantly, for his reported transfer fee of around £3million pounds he seems to be an absolute steal.

Worst signing of the season:

Liverpool’s signing of Paul Konchesky – utter dog shit. After getting to the European final with Fulham he then somehow got signed to Liverpool. Half a season later he was playing for Nottingham Forest. Says it all, doesn't it?

Player of the season:

Edwin Van Der Sar – He played a massive role in helping his club win the league this season, popping up with some truly fantastic saves at crucial times for United. It’s a shame he is retiring, he looks like he could have another 3 good seasons in him, at least. His absence next year will be severely missed.
